THROWBACK: Past winning UAAP cheerdance performances

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) cheerdance competition has become a much-awaited event that college students – even those who are from non-UAAP schools – look forward to every year.

While many are disappointed with the decision of the University of the Philippines Pep Squad to sit out this year’s competition, thousands of fans are still looking forward to witness the exciting performances from the seven other member schools, led by defending champions, the National University (NU) Pep Squad, which is gunning for a fourth consecutive title.

A few days before this year’s Cheerdance Competition at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on November 19, the teams are surely preparing their breath-taking stunts and colorful costumes, while spectators are also gearing up to support for their favorite team.

Meanwhile, let’s look back at the winning performances in last four years:

Last year, NU Pep Squad made it three-in-a row, garnering 668 points, to defeat University of Santo Tomas (651.5 points) and UP (610.5 points).
