PH seals reputation as pageant powerhouse in 2016

MANILA – The Philippines sealed its reputation as a pageant powerhouse this year, as seen in its stellar performance in international beauty contests.

Leading the pack of Filipina beauty queens this year is Kylie Verzosa who was crowned Miss International, a sixth for the country.

Philippine representatives also performed well in major international pageants. Nicole Cordoves won first runner-up in Miss Grand International 2016, Nichole Manalo finished third runner-up in Miss Globe 2016, and Catriona Gray made it to the Top 5 of Miss World 2016. 

Joanna Eden was included in the Miss Supranational 2016 Top 25, Ganiel Krishnan was named second runner-up in Miss Asia Pacific International 2016, and Janela Joy Cuaton finished first runner-up in Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2016.

The country also won in smaller pageants across the globe. Elysha Dinn Rasay was proclaimed Princess of the World 2016, Christine Picardal won Miss Diamond of the World 2016, Trixia Maria Marana was crowned Miss Asia 2016, and Jeslyn Santos bagged the Miss United Contestants 2016 title.
