Manila Cathedral was packed with devotees and visitors on Friday afternoon, many of them students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran, which is celebrating its 400th founding anniversary.
To commemorate the milestone, the school, in partnership with the Intramuros Administration, made possible the return of the Our Lady of La Naval to the cathedral, the first time the image set foot there since World War Two.
Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle led the homecoming mass, his last before leaving for the Vatican to take on a new job.
After being paraded around Intramuros, the shrine spent a night at Letran before being taken back to the Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City.
Here are some scenes from the event.
