MANILA – “Here’s to new beginnings.”
Miss Universe 1993 Dayanara Torres made this statement as she announced that she is returning to Manila Genesis as one of its talents.
“Glad to be back with Manila Genesis again! Couldn’t be more at home!” she wrote in an Instagram post over the weekend.
“Love you, guys,” she told Angeli Pangilinan Valenciano, who runs Manila Genesis, and her husband, singer Gary Valenciano.
It was last November when Torres reunited with the Valencianos, presumably to talk about her Philippine comeback.
Torres visited the Philippines in 1994 to crown her successor in the Miss Universe pageant. She went on to become a celebrity in the country, starring in movies with Aga Muhlach and Cesar Montano, among others.
She is one of the original hosts and performers of the ABS-CBN variety show “ASAP” along with Valenciano, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez and Ariel Rivera, and was once dubbed as the Philippines’ “Dancing Queen.”
