MANILA – Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach admitted that her boyfriend, racer Marlon Stockinger, is not her top priority for 2018.

In an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired Monday, Wurtzbach said her main focus next year is her career as an actress.

The former beauty queen stars in the Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Gandarrapiddo! The Revenger Squad” along with Vice Ganda and Daniel Padilla.

“Honestly sasabihin ko… number one ‘yung career. Pinaghirapan ko ‘to nang masyadong matagal at masyadong mahirap ‘yung pinagdaanan ko para lang i-give up ko para sa iba pang mga bagay,” said Wurtzbach, who competed in Binibining Pilipinas thrice to get the opportunity to represent the Philippines in Miss Universe.

“Sa akin talaga, ‘yun ang importante because it balances everything out,” she continued. “If I have a good career, then I’ll be able to help out my family, and that will also make me happy. [My career] gives me fulfillment. This is what I love to do. I really can’t imagine doing anything else.”

The show’s host, Boy Abunda, asked Wurtzbach to rank career, beauty, and love life as her priorities for 2018.

The former Miss Universe titleholder said beauty is second on her list, saying that it is an important aspect of her career.

“Number two, I have to take of ‘yung puhunan ko which is kagandahan. Baka sabihin ng mga tao, ano ba ‘yan, ang yabang ni Pia. Pero if you’re a beauty queen or you’re an actress, you know that people will always be looking at your face,” she explained.

With Stockinger ending up as her third priority next year, Wurtzbach said in jest: “Sorry, Marlon. I mean, you’re still in the list. Top 3 ka pa rin.”

The beauty queen went on to say that Stockinger understands where she is coming from, adding that he was her best friend first before becoming her boyfriend.

“Marlon is, first and foremost, my best friend before my boyfriend. He knows me so well already. He knew me when I was Miss Universe, when I passed on the crown which was an emotional time for me, to coming back to the Philippines and coming back to acting,” she said.

“We went through all of that. Of course, he had his challenges, I had mine. He was there for me and he just never gave up on me. He never left,” she added.
