MANILA – Jehza Huelar showed grace under pressure in the recently concluded Miss Supranational 2018 in Poland as she graced the pageant stage in a ripped gown.

Confirming rumors, Huelar revealed that she found out her gown – which she described as “stretchable” and “durable” – was ripped after it was announced that she made it to the Top 10.

“Minutes after the announcement of the Top 10, I realized that my gown is ripped… That’s why I was the last one to come out,” she said in an Instagram post on Wednesday.

“The unfortunate incident didn’t bother me at all,” she added. “Worry less, focus more – that was the only thought I had in my mind.”

Huelar eventually ended her Miss Supranational 2018 journey as a Top 10 candidate.

While she did not speculate on the reason why her gown was ripped, the beauty queen said she will release a statement soon.

Some of her Instagram followers believe that she was “sabotaged,” while others said it may have been a simple case of wardrobe malfunction.

Local pageant website Powerhouse has posted a close-up photo of Huelar’s ripped dress, which was held in place by safety pins.
