MANILA -- Two Filipinas finished in the Miss Supranational top 10 in Poland Saturday, proving at the same time that in beauty pageants, repeat contestants can get crowns.

First runner-up Katrina Jayne Dimaranan, who represented the US, was Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism 2012, but did not join an international pageant during her reign.

Dimaranan lost out to Puerto Rico's Valeria Vazquez Latorre.

During the final question round, the dusky beauty was asked about the one disadvantage of pageants.

"We get a lot of criticism. A lot of people body shame us. They don't understand why we do beauty pageants," she said.

"I think as women, we rise above disadvantages and we prove them that these are women who have dreams and goals and ambitions," she said.

Binibining Pilipinas Jehza Huelar ended her campaign for the country's second Miss Supranational crown in the top 10.

The Davao City beauty joined Binibining Pilipinas for 3 straight years before finally clinching a crown. She was first runner-up in Miss Universe-Philippines Maxine Medina's 2016 court and was unplaced the following year, when Rachel Peters won.
