MANILA — Gazini Ganados is hoping to clinch a back-to-back crown for the Philippines in Miss Universe, after the 2018 reign of compatriot Catriona Gray.
While that’s the case, Ganados only has glowing words for her competitors in the international pageant, and has even named her own top 5 picks in a recent video from Binibining Pilipinas.
In no particular order, she picked Frederika Cull of Indonesia, Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa, Fahsai Paweensuda Drouin of Thailand, Julia Horta of Brazil, and Gabriela Tafur of Colombia.
Ganados commended Miss Indonesia for her sophistication, Miss South Africa for her advocacy for women’s rights, Miss Thailand for her elegance and charity work, Miss Brazil for her fashion sense and approaching demeanor, and Miss Colombia for her fitness and beauty.
Brazil’s Horta and Colombia’s Tafur went on to become among Ganados’ first friends in Atlanta, USA — where the pageant will be held — going by an identical group photo they all shared on Instagram.
The Miss Universe coronation is scheduled on December 8 in Atlanta, Georgia, or December 9, 8 a.m. Manila time, with a live broadcast on ABS-CBN.
