ILOCOS SUR – Two graduates of Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) were among the topnotchers in the September Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) in the elementary level.
Ghaile Collado Javien is one of the nine examinees who got a rating of 86.60, placing in the 9th spot. She graduated cum laude at the Taguidin campus of ISPSC.
Meanwhile, Romyr Genesis Manuel Canaria is one of the ten who got a rating of 86.40 at 10th place. He graduated magna cum laude at the Sta. Maria campus of the same school.
Both of them prepared well for the examination, but they did not expect to be topnotchers.
Javien, a daughter of a farmer, wishes to get a teaching job to help her family.
"Gusto ko mismo na pag-aralin ang kapatid ko para iwas gastos na rin sina Mama," she said.
Canaria, on the other hand, is hoping to be employed as a public school teacher to help the youth in achieving their dreams.
"I want to help my family.
ISPSC is proud of the performance of their two graduates. Their inclusion in the Top 10 examinees helps in the Level III accreditation of their education program.
The main campus of ISPSC got a passing rate of 50%, 42.11% for the Tagudin campus and 52% for the Cervantes Campus.
University of Northern Philippines in Vigan City has a 59.68% passing rate, while the North Luzon Philippines State College in Candon City has a passing rate of 44%.
