MANILA – “Social media is the best,” said Heart Evangelista as she was reunited with one of her dogs that went missing.

The actress was able to use Twitter and her huge fan base to find Casper, a while Maltese, after it got lost in New Manila, Quezon City.

“My dog Casper is missing along New Manila. Please help us find him. He will not make it without us. We need him and he needs us. Please help,” she begged in a Twitter post, which got thousands of “retweets” and “likes” in a matter of hours.

Fans in the area lent a helping hand to Evangelista by asking her questions and giving her updates using the same social media platform.

In less than a day, Evangelista happily announced that they have finally found her furry companion.

“Thank you so much! I am in tears at this event I needed to attend! So touched! Thank you so much to everyone who helped! And to the kuya driver that picked him up! Thank you, Lord! Casper is home!” she tweeted.

On Instagram, Evangelista also shared a photo of her with the man who found Casper.

“Look at Casper’s smile! Thank you to Kuya Victor for finding and returning our baby. Thank you also to everyone who helped out in looking for him – going around in New Manila to look and spreading the word online,” she said.

“It really goes to show how powerful social media is when used for a good cause,” she added. “Again, thank you, all! It wouldn’t have been possible without everyone working together.”
