MANILA - A Filipino scientist who won the Magsaysay Award is speaking at the University of the Philippines Open University conference on Friday Nov. 23 in Los Baños, Laguna.
Dr. Romulo Davide will be attending the conference, dubbed as "Couldn't AGRI More: Harvesting S&T Knowledge," which is sponsored by San Miguel Corp.
Davide's discovery of a nematode-trapping fungi led to the development of BIOCON - a biological control product that is used against pests attacking vegetables, fruits and other crops.
The conference will have 20 open slots to the public.
