MANILA – In a few hours, the Miss International 2019 coronation event will kick off in Tokyo, Japan.

But as early as now, Philippine representative Bea Patricia “Patch” Magtanong feels like she’s already won.

According to the lawyer-turned-beauty queen, her Miss International journey already feels like a huge reward.

“I came to Miss International expecting 3 weeks of stress, anxiety, and ruthless competition with ultra competitive ladies who were nothing like me. Instead, I got the most amazing cultural experience of my life, and friendships to last for a lifetime,” she said in an Instagram post.

“The crown is still waiting for its new queen, but I already feel like I’ve won.”

Magtanong went on to declare that she will “carry my Miss International journey with me my entire life,” adding that she “will never forget the beautiful souls I met along the way.”

Nevertheless, she still asked for prayers from all her supporters as she competes for the crown.

“It’s been an honor representing the Philippines, and today is the day! Please say a little prayer for me!” she said.

Should she win, Magtanong will be the Philippines’ seventh Miss International winner after Kylie Verzosa in 2016.

Her predecessor, Ahtisa Manalo, finished first runner-up to Venezuela’s Mariem Velazco last year.

The Miss International 2019 coronation will be streamed live starting at 1 p.m. (Manila time) on the pageant’s Facebook page.
