MANILA – The church wedding of actress Chynna Ortaleza and singer-actor Kean Cipriano is far from traditional.
And one of the many things that caught people’s attention is the couple’s use of black, from the wedding bouquet and centerpieces to the entourage outfits.
Ortaleza opted to have a black bouquet by floral and event designer Teddy Manual. It contains berries, chocolate cosmos, and plum-colored calla lilies, presumably a nod to Cipriano’s band, Callalily.
Ortaleza did not wear black to her wedding, but her gown was nevertheless unconventional. The actress walked down the aisle in a gray frock by local designer Edwin Tan.
It had a matching cape during the church ceremony, which was taken off during the reception.
Their entourage and guests, however, arrived in black. Some of the celebrities spotted at the event include John and Isabel Prats, Glaiza de Castro, Ryza Cenon, and Pocholo Barretto.
After the ceremony, Ortaleza and Cipriano had an intimate wedding reception at Pio’s Kitchen in Diliman, Quezon City.
Manuel transformed the private dining space to suit the dark, artsy theme, adding black flowers and vines.
Even the grazing table of appetizers got the “black” treatment.
