Foundation Couples for Christ's (CFC) Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP) will hold the ninth installment of its annual ANCOP Global Walk on November 17 at the Quirino Grandstand and walk along Roxas Boulevard for the benefit of thousands of school children.

Guided by a mission to help the underprivileged to continue and finish their education, the theme of this year's activity is "Light up my life."

"Let us join hands together in pursuing this cause for our poor brethren, be a 'bearer of light' for them and their families," CFC said in a statement.

Under their educational assistance program, CFC has been providing thousands of scholars from indigent families in Metro Manila and provinces an access to quality education.

ANNUAL EVENT

CFC initiated the first ANCOP Global Walk on 2011 around SM Mall of Asia where more than 50,000 people filled the 5-kilometer stretch. From the walk generated funds, the foundation was able to send a thousand of underprivileged children to school.

Inspired by the outcome, the foundation has since then organized the event annually in various parts of Metro Manila all with the same purpose.

"We were able to gather close to 80,000 walkers per year, bringing in more funds to sustain the current scholars and to cover the needs of more children waiting for educational support to fulfill their dreams," CFC said.

"Every year we walk for a common cause – to sustain the educational assistance of the 2,538 ANCOP scholars and support more students who hardly had the opportunity to enter school due to poverty," CFC added.

The registration for the ANCOP Global Walk is on-going. Interested participants may either fill out a registration form, submit, and pay to the ANCOP Global Walk Secretariat located at 156 20th Avenue, Cubao, Quezon City. The registration fee is P300. The walk shirt costs an additional P240.
