MANILA -- Following the growing popularity of detective-themed movies and series is the rise of escape rooms, which are a big hit among thrill-seeking millennials.
In escape rooms, members of a group have to solve puzzles before they can break out. Unless, of course, they want to get stuck.
As the holiday season approaches, many yuppies are planning about having their yearenders and team-building parties. Perhaps, if their goal is to strengthen their teamwork spirit and cooperation, entering escape rooms is something they must consider.
Totem Philippines has opened two uniquely-themed escape rooms to cater to the demands of aspiring detectives.
The first room, which is called "Dreamwalkers," is inspired by the movie "Inception." While inside, you are given the impression that you're inside a person's mind. You need to solve the puzzle given the available clues so you can open the vault, which contains the special diamond the robber has stolen from your client. You only have 50 minutes to finish the task, or else you will be stuck in the limbo.
The second room, meanwhile, is called "Stranded." Apt for the Halloween season, the room has a terrifying theme featuring the house of a controversial plastic surgeon who performs underground experiments on his patients. Be careful while inside the house, as you might have an encounter with a monster that the doctor has been keeping for a very long time. And you only have 50 minutes to save your life.
Here's a glimpse of what to expect in Totem Philippines:
