MANILA – Singer-actress Rachel Alejandro is a vision in red as she walked the red carpet at the Tokyo International Film Festival 2017 in Japan.
Wearing a red terno by top Filipino designer Francis Libiran, Alejandro is representing the movie “Ang Larawan,” which is having its world premiere at the festival.
On Tuesday, Alejandro revealed that this is her first time to attend an international film festival.
“It’s more gratifying that I am walking not just as an actor, but one of the producing team for ‘Ang Larawan,’ our passion project,” she said in an Instagram post.
“Ang Larawan” is based on the play “A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino” by National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin.
It tells the story of sisters Paula (Alejandro) and Candida (Joanna Ampil), whose family got into financial trouble after their father was unable to produce artworks.
Directed by Loy Arcenas, the movie also stars Paulo Avelino, Robert Arevalo, Nonie Buencamino, and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo.
