Run for a cause and give fitspiration a whole new meaning.

If that threadmill or gym membership has just been collecting dust, maybe the push you need to take your fitness goal to a whole new level is a four-legged buddy.

The friendly rescues of the Laguna Pit Bulls Sanctuary are calling for workout buddies willing to pace with them around the site.

According to the sanctuary's management, the rescued pit bulls need constant exercise. While some dogs like to simply stroll, they have dogs who want to stretch out their legs and run.

Volunteers will be welcomed by sweet and friendly pups eager to feel the warmth of a human. The demeanor of the dogs are sunny it is almost difficult to believe their dark past.

The pit bulls residing in the sanctuary were rescued from a violent dog-fighting ring operated by Korean nationals back in 2012.

Around 230 malnourished pit bulls were found in short chains linked to steel drums that left them exposed to harsh elements. Most sustained injuries from the brutal dog fights they were forced to participate in.

Despite exhausting efforts, some of the dogs perished or had to be euthanized.

Thankfully, the remaining pit bulls have been taken under the wing of Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA) which has since been at the forefront of taking care of the pitbulls.

The rescues fight, however, is far from over. Today, the dogs still persist to fight for the life they deserve, the life they have been deprived of since birth.

The canines still need all the help they can get. If you are a dog lover but are not exactly physical or may not have the time to journey to the south, apart from volunteering, you can sponsor a pit bull. For just P250 a month, you can give a pit bull the life he deserves.

The P250 will ensure a constant supply for the pittie's food, hygeine products, medical needs, and other necedsities.

If you have room for another family member, you may also opt to adopt one of the sweet pups at the site. There are around 70 pit bulls longing for a chance of a forever home.

As fun as a playdate may be, nothing could make a dog's eyes light brighter than the sight of its beloved human coming home and nothing could make its tail wag harder knowing they are both home.
