MANILA -- Here are some of the events, shows, and activities you can check out this weekend.

Kapamilya star Daniel Padilla is set to conquer the Big Dome once again as he gears for his fourth major concert.

Padilla will be performing all covers and he personally drew up his setlist himself. "Ito 'yung mga kantang nagpapa-feel sa akin," he told Star Cinema.

He hopes to introduce the younger audience to the older music and classics. "Lalo na sa mga [mas bata], medyo mga unknown sa kanila 'yung mga kanta mostly," he was quoted as saying.

Where: PETA Theater Center, Quezon City

PETA’s martial law musical for millennials is about Hector, a professional keyboard warrior for a troll center who is running a pro-Martial Law campaign. 

Directed by Maribel Legarda, written by Liza Magtoto and music by Vince De Jesus, the musical is an appeal to the millennials to #NeverForget our nation's past. "It is an attempt to stimulate discourse about truth and history in the age of social media: to look beyond the memes and fake news, and to encourage thinking critically and acting responsibly both online and offline."

The hotel commemorates National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a month-long campaign that aims to spread awareness about breast cancer.

In line with this campaign, the hotel will stage a concert for a cause featuring renowned vocal group The Company and acoustic act MYMP on Friday. Ticket rates start at P2,500 net inclusive of cocktails. Proceeds will benefit STAGEZERO by Project Pink Support Group.

Guests may also avail of special “Bloom in Pink” room packages for the entire month of October. Overnight stay is available at P4,999 net for a deluxe room, P5,999 net for premier room. Overnight stays with breakfast will be at P5,999 net for deluxe and P6,999 net for premier. 

Another event this weekend is a mother-daughter retreat on October 13, which includes Breast Cancer 101 discussion, meditation as well as mindful eating and weight management tips.

Philippine-made textile products take center stage at this year’s HABI trade fair, which pays tribute to the country’s traditional weavers. More than 80 exhibitors will take part in the event, making it HABI’s biggest trade fair to date. 

For the first time, the show will also include textile exhibitors from the ASEAN region, namely, the weaving communities of Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
Shoppers can check out the fashionable bags adorned with the resplendent cloth made by the Yakans of Basilan, and the hand-woven blankets, covers, and napkins from the Ilocos region. Toys and novelty items made by local craftsmen should also be popular for early Christmas shoppers.

There will also be a fashion show highlighting the woven fabrics by Patis Tesoro, Len Cabili of Filip+Inna, LARA Samar, Jor-el Espina, Boy Guino-o of Alfonso Davao, Twinkle Ferraren, Malaysian designer Edric Ong and Laura Fontan of Vietnam fashion house Chula.

Gary Valenciano is back in the concert scene. After successfully dealing with a major health scare this year, Mr. Pure Energy is raring to go back to the stage. This time around, he's not staging a concert for the sake of entertainment. He's doing it for charity as a way of giving thanks for getting a second lease on life. 

This concert will help raise funds for the Xavier School charities. It will be held at the Xavier Sports Center and he will be joined on stage by his daughter Kiana Valenciano.

This breast cancer awareness event will feature inspirational and self-care talks. Dr. Claire Soliman, president of Philippine Society of Medical Oncologist, will talk about breast cancer, its causes, prevention, and treatment, while breast cancer survivor Gertrudes Calderon will share her story battling breast cancer. Meanwhile, Kundalani Yoga teacher Tet Bachmann will discuss techniques on managing daily stress and resisting illness.

Aside from the talks, the Philippine Cancer Society will offer free clinical breast exam. In support of the awareness campaign, attendees can have their hair colored with washable pink dye for free at the event.

It is hosted by Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar.

Collectors can find European furnishings, artwork and decor, as well as statement vintage pieces, at this special auction.

Bidders will have access to a total of 250 lots featuring quality European furniture, silverware, decorative art and furnishings, representing a variety of periods and styles, including an early 20th century French hand-carved Renaissance sideboard, a vintage French Rococo-style 6-door glass display cabinet, and a pair of 1915 and 1917 WWII Trench Art Brass Vase Shell Cases. 

Artworks by Filipino masters and contemporary artists Oscar Zalameda, Jeff Dizon, Tony Mahilum, Juvenal Sanso and Robbie Nubla will also be included. 

Bidding prices can start as low as P100 or as high as P1 million, depending on the items and bidders. 

Interested bidders must register at the Harringtons Pasong Tamo or Sucat showrooms and pay the P5,000 bidding deposit, which is refundable if the bidder does not win any item at the auction.

The concert will feature Manila Symphony Orchestra concertmaster-violinist Gina Medina Perez and UST professor-pianist Mary Anne Espina, who will be performing violin and piano masterpieces such as Mozart's Sonata No. 17 in C Major for Piano and Violin K. 296 and Brahms's Sonata No. 2 for Violin and Piano Op. 100.

They will be performing alongside the Emanon Quartet, which is composed of violinist Christian Tan, violinist Michael Vargas, viola player Mhaze Danniel Lim, and cellist Paul Natividad. They will be playing Haydn's Quartet in B Flat Major, Op. 76 no. 4 "Sunrise," Suk's Meditation on the Old Czech Chorale 'St. Wenceslas' Op. 35, Buenaventura's Himig Nayon (Pahiwatig, Pagsasaya), and Del Rosario/Mendoza's Kalesa Parody. 

Tickets are priced at P1,000 and P600, with 50 percent discount for students, and 20 percent discount for senior citizen and PWD.

After its successful season opener, the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra gears up for its second concert.
Under the baton of Maestro Yoshikazu Fukumura, PPO's music director and principal conductor, the PPO will perform H. Berlioz’s Le Corsaire Overture and P.I. Tchaikovsky’s Symphony no. 4, Op. 36, F minor.
Featured guest soloist will be violinist Kristine Clair “KayCee” Uchi Galano, playing M. Bruch’s Violin Concerto no.1, Op. 26, G minor.

Eastwood City is celebrating Oktoberfest with its very own Boozefest, a three-week long revelry with a jampacked lineup of bands and booze at the Eastwood Central Plaza and Fuente Circle. 

On October 13, the following bands will pelt their crowd-favorite songs at Fuente Circle beginning 8 p.m. -- The Ransom Collective, Asch, Oh Flamingo! and Signalgiant. 

October 19 will have performances from Sponge Cola, Brisom, Lunar Lights, and Room for Cielo at Eastwood Central Plaza, starting at 7 p.m.

Eastwood City’s Boozefest closes on a high note on October 27 as Apartel, a soul indie band formed by OPM icon Ely Buendia, launches its debut album at Eastwood Central Plaza at 8 p.m.

Where: Venice Grand Canal, Taguig City

Visit Venice Grand Canal and chill with your biker bros while listening to band performances, enjoying food and beers, and looking at an array of big bikes on display. Gulp down and munch on free beer and snack deals when you bring and park your big bike beginning 4 p.m. onwards.
