MANILA – “Enough!”

TV host Kris Aquino could no longer stand rumors that she wore a necklace previously owned by former first lady Imelda Marcos – at an APEC event, no less.

Aquino said it was her sister Viel and designer JC Buendia who showed her Facebook posts about her supposedly wearing Mrs. Marcos’s diamond necklace, which is part of the ill-gotten wealth of the Marcos family, in last year’s APEC welcome dinner for economic leaders.

“The necklace supposedly belonged to Mrs. Marcos and I was brazen enough to wear them for the APEC DINNER. Duh?” noted Aquino, the youngest sister of former President Benigno Aquino III.

“The necklace I wore was made from cubic zirconia and silver – hindi po DIAMONDS (not diamonds),” she added. “In other words, fake sila although Bottega Veneta naman (In other words, they’re fake, but they’re from Bottega Veneta).”

“Enough! And the TRUTH is on my side – including credit card receipts.”

Aquino is one of the daughters of the late President Corazon Aquino and the late Senator Benigno Aquino Jr.

Mrs. Aquino was sworn into office after the 1986 People Power revolution ousted dictator Ferdinand Marcos, Imelda’s husband.
