MANILA – Two hotels in the Philippines made it to the 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards of Conde Nast Traveler.
Edsa Shangri-La Manila and Conrad Manila were voted by readers of the travel magazine as among the 50 best hotels in the world, ranking 46th and 45th, respectively.
Topping the list, which can be viewed here, is SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
John Rice, area vice president of operations for the Shangri-La Group in the Philippines, said they are “deeply grateful and truly delighted to be named among the best of the best by our valued guests and readers of Conde Nast Traveler.”
“Our colleagues and properties in the Philippines have been, and continue to be, a source of great pride for us,” he said in a statement released on Wednesday.
As expected, Conrad Manila and Edsa Shangri-La Manila were also included in the Asian counterpart of Conde Nast Traveler’s best hotels at third and fourth place, respectively.
Other Philippine-based properties in the magazine’s Top 20 Hotels in Asia list are Shangri-La at the Fort (14th) and Discovery Suites Manila (18th).
Meanwhile, two resorts in the country were voted among the best in Asia.
Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa made it to the 11th spot, while El Nido Resorts – Pangulasian Island in Palawan ranked 16th.
Conde Nast Traveler’s latest survey for its Readers’ Choice Awards featured a record 600,000 voters.
Boracay, the Philippines’ main tourism centerpiece, topped the Best Islands in Asia list this year.
