After announcing that Sam Concepcion has been tapped to play Joseph and Paolo Valenciano has been tasked to helm this re-imagination of this highly successful Trumpets franchise, “Joseph The Dreamer” scores another coup by getting prized musical director Myke Salomon to update the production’s music and the versatile and vocal powerhouse Bituin Escalante to play the role of Joseph’s mother.

Escalante was part of the ensemble of a previous “Joseph The Dreamer” staging, and because of her outstanding work and vocals, she was discovered and eventually launched into mainstream showbiz.

Highly respected Mio Infante, also a cast member of previous “Joseph The Dreamer” stagings, is the production designer of the show. Mike Arda of A Team is tasked to ensure that the choreography of “Joseph The Dreamer” boasts of moves never before seen in the local stage.

“I am very proud that Trumpets has assembled the new generation of the hottest artists and members of the artistic for this staging of ‘Joseph The Dreamer,’” producer Audie Gemora, who also originated the role alongside Gary Valenciano, said. “I think it is also high time to have this re-imagined version presented to new and old audiences alike.”

Gemora added that the overwhelming turnout of the “Joseph The Dreamer” auditions with more than 270 performers trying out for a spot in the show was extremely encouraging.

“I can’t wait to announce the cast of this new staging,” he added. “There are so many talented young performers. We all have to look forward to the fantastic new music and dances, and vibrant performances from our cast.”

“Joseph The Dreamer” goes onstage this early 2020.
