MANILA – ABS-CBN Foundation has found a new partner for its environmental programs in City of Dreams Manila.

The two parties recently signed an agreement allowing City of Dreams Manila to work with ABS-CBN Foundation in the latter’s Bantay Langis, Bantay Baterya, and Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment Recovery Project.

The three programs aim to shed light on the dangers of improper handling of used oils, lead acid batteries, and electronic waste.

ABS-CBN Foundation has been encouraging companies to donate these kinds of waste for proper recovery, recycling, and/or disposal with the help of accredited recyclers.

Income generated from the donated waste is then used to fund the environmental endeavors of the ABS-CBN Foundation such as the protection of the La Mesa Watershed.

“City of Dreams Manila shares the same vision for a better, greener future of ABS-CBN Foundation, which has long been recognized for its strong and consistent commitment to the preservation of the environment, as proven by its numerous landmark achievements,” said City of Dreams Manila senior vice president and chief operating officer Kevin Benning.

“We are honored to continue working with them, so together we can embark on more sustainable projects that create a lasting, positive impact for the environment.”

Prior to its partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation, City of Dreams Manila has also spearheaded green initiatives such as a vermicomposting facility and greenhouse nursery on the property as well as the use of biodegradable plates, utensils, and takeout bags at The Garage VR Zone and food park.
