Guess which city is world's top travel destination

MANILA – A Southeast Asian city has beaten London as the world’s most popular travel destination this year, according to an annual ranking by the global payments and technology company Mastercard. 

The Thai capital of Bangkok topped the 2016 list of 132 cities in the Mastercard Global Destination Cities Index and is projected to receive 21.47 million international visitors this year. 

London ranked second in the study with 19.88 million forecasted international overnight visitors, followed by Paris (18.03 million), Dubai (15.27 million), New York (12.75 million), Singapore (12.11 million), Kuala Lumpur (12.02 million), Istanbul (11.95 million), Tokyo (11.70 million) and Seoul (10.20 million).

Manila, meanwhile, landed in the 74th spot with 1.37 million projected international visitors this year.
