MANILA -- A happy wife equates to a happy life, according to veteran actor Ian Veneracion.
The 42-year-old "A Love to Last" star has revealed that his wife handles their finances.
He said it was his wife, an engineer, who decided to invest in a construction business which she personally manages. He considers this a wise decision, given the ephemeral nature of showbiz.
"Hindi ako ang businessman, it’s her gig. For example, 'yong income from showbiz. Kasi kung hindi ko 'yan paiikutin, wala. Parang baldeng butas 'yan, eh, ang showbiz. Kasi 'di ba, minsan long periods tayong walang trabaho?" he told website Push in an interview.
After he got married, Veneracion would remit his paychecks to his wife. "Whatever I have, my money, is her money. Ini-invest ko doon [business]. Diretso kaagad sa kanya," he said.
Veneracion even joked that the reason why he couldn't afford a mistress is because he never holds his own money since he only receives allowance from his wife.
"Kunwari may gusto akong bilhin na gitara o motor or whatever it is, tinatanong ko sa kanya, ‘Can I afford this?’ Sasabihin niya, ‘Puwede naman,’" he added
Despite this, Veneracion said he never once complained about their setup.
