MANILA - In what seemed to be proof that our feline friends have 9 lives, cats and kittens were rescued Tuesday by concerned citizens across the city.

In the busy EDSA highway, a kitten which can barely stand up was nearly run over by a car, had it not been for a concerned motorist who motioned for the car's driver to stop.

The heartwarming moment was caught on Genesis Dumlao's camera.

We can safely say that kitten is in good hands.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) took on an operation which did not involve illegal drugs, pushers and druglords.

PDEA agents rescued stray cats in their headquarters in Quezon City and had them spayed and neutered.

"This is part of PDEA's advocacy as it endeavors to promote a healthy working environment where its personnel can co-exist with domesticated animals," the PDEA said in a statement.
