Some 20 years after she first tried for a beauty queen title, Patricia Javier has finally got one.
The actress, a mother of 2 kids, was named Mrs. Universe Philippines 2019, earning a chance to represent the country in the international edition of the pageant that focuses on married women with a cause.
Javier, a health and fitness advocate, won the crown during a coronation night held at Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila in Pasay.
The other main winners were:
- Lovely Gervacio-Tajan (Finest Woman International)
- Arlene Poyaoan-Galvez (Finest Woman World)
- Maria Estrella Zaldivar (Finest Woman Globe)
- Johanna Beatriz Jacinto-Ticzon (Finest Woman Earth)
Javier joined Binibining Pilipinas back in 1998. She did not win a crown then, but her stint in the contest was said to have paved the way for her to break into showbiz.
The Mrs. Universe pageant is an international event established in 2007 that puts the focus on married women with a cause. The Philippines has yet to win the competition.
