A 9-year-old boy became viral after a netizen took pictures of him sleeping after he apparently became tired of reading his books and selling sampaguita flowers outside a church in Lipa City, Batangas.

In a Facebook post last August 23, netizen Sha Lim Pua shared photos of Rebolado sleeping at the patio of the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Sebastian.

(You will feel the struggle...of working students trying to finish their studies.)

Rebolado said he just finished taking an exam that day, so he went to his mother's post to help sell sampaguita garlands. He added that he likes to read books while waiting for customers.

At saka po napagod po ako dun kaya ako'y nakatulog," the boy said.

(Our teacher gave us a lot of school work and exams. I was tired so I fell asleep.)

Rebolado is the youngest of 8 children. Her mother, Jocelyn, became emotional after his "bunso" (youngest child) became an inspirational sensation.

(It's enough for me that my child will finish his studies. Among my many children, he is the only one studying. My other 2 children stopped because of our financial difficulties.)

The boy's friend, Mark Ken, had high praises for the viral student, saying Rebolado always reads his books.

Rebolado, with bright eyes, vowed to use his studies to raise his family out of poverty.

"Para makaahon sa kahirapan," he said.-- Report from April Magpantay, ABS-CBN News
