MANILA – Social media was abuzz on Thursday following rumors that reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach will be the next host of “Asia’s Next Top Model.”
A Facebook post announcing Wurtzbach as the newest host of the reality modeling competition has been making the rounds online, with many Filipino netizens hoping that they will soon see the Filipina-German beauty queen regularly on television.

The recent tweet of Wurtzbach only added fuel to the rumors. “So excited for new things to come,” she wrote.
While the idea seems exciting, Wurtzbach’s camp did not confirm the rumors.
Esther Swan, director of talent development at Miss Universe and Wurtzbach’s manager, told the fashion website Style Bible that they have yet to receive a formal offer from “Asia’s Next Top Model.”
“All inquiries and requests for Miss Universe appearances and bookings are sent for my attention. Having Ms. Wurtzbach take part in the [AsNTM] series would be great, [but] I have not received an invitation for consideration,” Esther said in a statement.
Filipina-British model Georgina Wilson hosted the third season of “Asia’s Next Top Model.”
