PH team to Dota 2 tourney ends run but takes home a cool P23.8M

MANILA - The Philippine team ended its campaign in the International Dota 2 Championships with a top eight finish, but with a prize of half a million dollars (P23.8 million).
It was the highest placement for any Filipino team in the International Dota 2 Championships. The five-man TNC represented both their country and the region.

TNC lost to European team Digital Chaos in a best-of-three match where the winner will fight for a slot in the top three teams for the championship.

TNC won the first game, patiently nipping at the defense of Digital Chaos. But the European team later saw through the Filipinos' offensive weaknesses and took advantage, taking the second and third games.
TNC is composed of Marco Polo “Raven” Fausto, Carlo “Kuku” Palad, Samson Solomon “Sam_H” Hidalgo, Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho, and Nico “eyyou” Barcelon.
TNC earlier beat OG for a slot in the top eight.
Chinese team Wings Gaming and North American team Evil Geniuses have secured two of the top three spots.
The top three teams will compete for a $8.9-million prize.
