MANILA -- Aside from model Michelle Dee, two other celebrities have been introduced as official candidates in the Miss World Philippines 2019 pageant.
Kelley Day, a former member of the "It's Showtime" group GirlTrends, said she is excited to start her pageant journey as candidate number 24.
"I have a lot to focus on this month leading up to the coronation. This journey will continue to challenge me, excite me, scare me, and hurt my feet! But I am ever so thankful for the support I have around me," said Day.
"Win or lose, I'll make you proud by giving this my absolute all."
Also competing in Miss World Philippines 2019 is former child actress Isabelle de Leon.
On Instagram, she wrote: "Hi guys! This is it! I ask you to join me on my journey as I stake my claim to the Miss World Philippines 2019 crown and prove myself as a truly worthy and deserving 'Beauty with a Purpose.'"
The Miss World Philippines 2019 coronation night will be held on September 8 at the Araneta Coliseum.
A total of four crowns were passed on last year, allowing winners to represent the Philippines in Miss World, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Eco International, and Miss Multinational.
To date, the Philippines only has one Miss World titleholder, actress Megan Young. She joined the pageant in 2013.
