MANILA -- Maxi Mango has certainly come a long way.

The dessert brand, which became a huge hit in the Philippines for its deceptively simple yet strangely addictive mango float, recently opened its first branch in Singapore.

Owner Miki Arceo-Velasquez, a former housemate in the reality show "Pinoy Big Brother," graced the launch of their Maxi Mango shop at the Capitol Piazza shopping mall last August 2.

Curious customers flocked to the stall to get a taste of desserts made using Philippine mangoes, with prices starting at S$4.90 (around P184.58) per cup.

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Arceo-Velasquez said she and her husband took the "expensive risk" of introducing Maxi Mango to Manila customers after putting up a few stores in Davao because they believed in their products.

The risk paid off as Maxi Mango attracted long lines in its Metro Manila branches, with the brand eventually tapping Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo as its endorser.
