It is Uniqlo’s job season per season to dole out pieces that transcend the test of trends and time. These are the everyday basics—or classics—that are re-imagined to stay in our closet throughout the years. But this season, is that of firsts.
Apart from the new releases in the brand’s staples, like HEATTECH, AIRism and Ultra Light Down, the Japanese retail giant has churned out more exciting collaborations with high-fashion designers.
Firstly, the 8th edition of their Ines de la Fressange collection now introduces a menswear line. The wildly successful collaboration with the French fashion icon has been a continuous source of buzz for the womenswear department, garnering attention from fashionistas worldwide, and a clamor for the Parisian-inspired line to produce menswear. True to its commitment to customers, Uniqlo releases this latest edition with men’s pieces, featuring classic European details we love, like stand-up collars, tweed jackets and cashmere knits.
But perhaps Uniqlo’s biggest reveal yet is the collaboration with British designer JW Anderson. It is Uniqlo’s familiar LifeWear line but with the slant of the great outdoors, and with a salute to British heritage. The collaborative collection contains both womenswear and menswear, utilizing chequered plaid fabrics and knits, Oxford-style finishes, as well as some subtle ruffles. New, exciting, but also versatile, the Uniqlo x JW Anderson collection stays loyal to both fashion brands in making truly stylish wardrobe essentials.
The Uniqlo fall/winter collections will be available this September 207, at leading malls nationwide.
