It’s still not too late to mark the 4th of July with this Makati hotel’s American Food Festival, which runs for one more weekend until Sunday at Flavors Restaurant.

The highlight of this buffet is a Burger Bar, which allows diners to customize their burger.

First, choose between US Grade 100% beef patties and a chicken burger, which will be grilled according to your personal preference. Second, choose your bun from homemade brioche, rye and ciabatta, then dress up your burger with toppings like good ol’ cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, guacamole, jalapeno peppers, spicy coleslaw, or even a fried egg.

Pair your burger with crispy potato wedges, onion rings, Cajun-spiced fried baby potatoes, or homemade potato chips.

Apart from burgers, you can also make your own hotdog and taco. The buffet also includes American favorites like baby back ribs and buttermilk fried chicken.

This is in addition to buffet staples from cold appetizers, salads and sushi to dessert, including a make your own halo-halo station and the must-try ube cheesecake.

Lunch buffet starts at P1,605 nett, while dinner buffet starts at P1,818 nett.

While Holiday Inn celebrates American meat, this Manila bay area hotel is highlighting Australian grass-fed beef at The Fireplace, which is known for its steaks.

The chefs presented the beef, which is said to be healthier, in various dishes, including the simple and classic Carpaccio and as the local appetizer Sinuglaw which pairs the seared beef with tuna chunks.

Of course, you don’t go to The Fireplace without having steaks. The Australian beef —choose between tenderloin and ribeye — is first sous vide before it is grilled resulting in tender yet flavorful meat. Best paired with what is probably the best mashed potatoes in town.

The Fireplace is just one of over 60 restaurants in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao which have joined the Australian Embassy in highlighting grass-fed beef. Among these are 8 Cuts, Dean & Deluca, Chef Jessie, and Wildflour in the metro, Anzani in Cebu, and Bondi & Bourke in Davao and Metro Manila.

This promo runs until August 20.
