MANILA – Frankie Pangilinan noticed that her swimsuit photos get more attention than others, so she used this as an opportunity to start a discussion on “more important” issues.
Posting a photo of her wearing a bikini while sitting on a lounge chair, Pangilinan encouraged her Instagram followers to care for the environment, support local businesses, vaccinate their children, and be kind to others.
“Whenever I post a swimsuit pic, it seems to get a little extra attention. I definitely don’t feel comfortable with that when there are so many more important things we should all be discussing, so I decided to mention some here,” she said.
Pangilinan continued: “Avoid plastic bottles and straws. Recycle if you can’t… Our farmers deserve better, try and buy from your local farms instead of going through a middleman. Vaccinate your kids. Register to vote, donate to WWF Philippines, support local brands… because colonial mentality is bad enough and it shouldn’t get to ruin our economy.”
“Don’t buy skin whitening products. Don’t body shame. Stay hydrated. Be kind. That’s just a few things I believe we should all try to keep in mind.”
Pangilinan, 18, graduated from high school last June. She is the eldest of Cuneta’s children with her senator-husband, along with Miel and Miguel.
Cuneta also has an older daughter, actress KC Concepcion, with former husband Gabby Concepcion.
