A Filipino a capella group won top prize in the Vokal Total 2017 International A Cappella Competition in Austria held Wednesday.
Acapellago took home the gold prize in the competition's pop category, beating out groups from Germany and Italy, as well as the audience's choice award.
"This is for our Lord the Creator of Music, to our country the Philippines and to the Filipino people, and to our families. Mabuhay po tayong lahat!" the group wrote on Facebook.
The Vokal Total is an annual international competition held in Graz, Austria, which aims to provide vocal groups a platform to reach a wider audience. It first took place in 1999.
Acapellago is composed of singers Mich Pascual, Almond Bolante, Joshua Cadelina, and Happy and Bogart Ladera. They are currently signed under Viva Records.
Back in May, the group released a music video for their single "Peroplano." They first shot to fame after their rendition of the popular Filipino nursery rhyme "Tatlong Bibe" went viral on social media.
