MANILA — Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, who is known to be Christian, turns to her faith amid challenging times, going by a message she shared on social media on Friday.
On Instagram Stories, the beauty queen shared lyrics from "See A Victory" by the band Elevation Worship.
Quoting a verse from the worship song, she wrote: "The weapon may be formed but it won't prosper. When the darkness falls it won't prevail. 'Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph. My God will never fail."
Gray's post came amid intrigues and speculation surrounding her relationship with her current boyfriend, actor Sam Milby, in light of the cryptic messages from her former boyfriend, model Clint Bondad, which have gone viral.
In the past week, Bondad has been posting "codes" in successive Instagram Stories updates, mentioning numerous times "Sam" and "Cat." Bondad earlier privately messaged Milby, asking the actor to become his "client."
Bondad also mentioned "dating apps" not being equal to "Church," prompting speculation that he was pertaining to Gray and Milby's shared faith.
Prior to going public with their relationship in May, Gray would refer to Milby only as a close friend whom she met through church, when asked about rumors linking them romantically.
Bondad, who has been hinting having hacked someone and even going as far as posting a countdown, has been a trending topic on Twitter along with Gray and Milby.
