MANILA – Boracay has been closed to tourists since April, but it has maintained a spot in Travel + Leisure magazine’s list of Top 10 islands in Asia.
It landed the No. 8 spot this year, getting a score of 86.14.
Two other Philippine destinations made the cut – Cebu made it to sixth place with a score of 89.10, while Palawan finished at No. 5 with 90.04.
At the top spot is Java in Indonesia, which also dominated Travel + Leisure magazine’s world’s best islands list.

The Department of Tourism took to Facebook on Tuesday to announce the inclusion of the three Philippine islands in Travel + Leisure’s list.
“Still one of Asia’s finest. See you soon, Boracay!” the agency said.
