After the success of "Crazy Rich Asians," another book by Kevin Kwan is set to be adapted into film.
This as Sony Pictures and SK Global have acquired the film rights to Kwan's new novel "Sex and Vanity," which became a New York Times bestseller after it was released last June 30.
"Beyond thrilled that 'Sex and Vanity' will be made into a film by Sony Pictures and SK Global," Kwan said in a Twitter post as he re-posted an article by Variety on the announcement.
Variety described "Sex and Vanity" as "the glittering tale of a young woman who finds herself torn between two men: the WASP-y fiancé of her family's dreams and George Zao, the man she is desperately trying to avoid falling in love with."
The novel was selected by "Good Morning America" as its Book Club Pick for the month of July.
Based on Kwan's best-selling novel, the "Crazy Rich Asians" film was shown in 2018 with Filipino host Kris Aquino making a brief appearance as Princess Intan.
