MANILA – Photographer to the stars BJ Pascual still could not believe that he has been tapped by Calvin Klein to be one of the brand’s Filipino collaborators.
Just in time for Metro Manila Pride, Pascual released photos and a video from his Calvin Klein gig, where he placed value on embracing what is considered by society as “feminine.”
“For years I tried to be manly, or masc, or macho, but I couldn’t. So I kept quiet, sat in a corner, hoping no one would notice,” he could be heard saying in the video ad, which was shot in Tokyo, Japan.
“One day, I realized those labels were holding me back,” he went on. “Too gay, too soft, sissy, damn right.”
In another Instagram post, Pascual dedicated his Calvin Klein photos to “all my effem (effeminate) boys out there.”
“Still can’t believe this happened!” he said.
