MANILA -- Here are some of the events, shows, and activities you can check out this weekend.
1. SUPER JUNIOR WORLD TOUR 'SUPER SHOW 7'
When: June 30
Where: Mall of Asia Arena
Super Junior is back with its much-awaited international "Super Show" installment five years after their explosive Super Show 5 concert in Manila.
Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Shindong, Eunhyuk, Siwon, and Donghae, are set to give their Filipino fans another spectacular show with songs from their “Play” album, as well as previous hits like “Mr. Simple”, and “Sorry Sorry.”
Gates open at 5 p.m. and the show starts promptly at 8 p.m.
2. BINONDO, A TSINOY MUSICAL
When: June 29 to July 8
Where: The Theatre at Solaire
This original musical directed by Joel Lamangan and written by Ricky Lee with Gershom Chua and Eljay Deldoc tells the story of how Lily, a Filipina night club singer in pre-Martial Law Manila, and a mainland Chinese scholar returning to Cultural Revolution-era Beijing, embark on a journey of love and heartbreak.
Spanning two decades and two countries, the musical explores how love overcomes racial prejudice and political turmoil and endures years of waiting and absence.
It stars Shiela Valderrama Martinez, Carla Guevara Laforteza, Arman Ferrer, David Ezra, Floyd Tena and Noel Rayos, among others.
3. KING JULIEN’S DANCE OFF
When: June 30
Where: Chaos, City of Dreams Manila
DreamPlay’s third “King Julien’s Dance Off” will have its grand finals this weekend with eight groups vying for the championship and the top prize valued at P100,000.
The dance competition held preliminary screenings of children’s dance groups from around the country. Each group is composed of eight to 12 members each, between the ages of seven to 14 years.
The eight finalists who were chosen by the DreamPlay management team in the presence of a DTI representative are: Kiddowockeez (in photo), Maximum Groovers, Electro Groovers, GFAM, Little Warriors, The Class, Vibaekidz and Small Fries.
The eight finalists will each perform a five-minute dance number to any song from DreamWorks Animation.
4. MUJI GREENBELT 3 STORE REOPENING
When: June 29
Where: Greenbelt 3, Makati
Japanese lifestyle brand MUJI reopens its store at Greenbelt 3 after three months of renovation. The new look draws inspiration from nature by incorporating wood, stone, sand, and metal.

5. TAUMBAYAN PRIDE NIGHT
When: June 29-30
Where: Taumbayan, 40 T. Gener cor K1, Kamuning, Quezon City
Taumbayan closes Pride Month with two special performances. On June 29, Juan Miguel Severo and best buddy Alfonso Manalastas take the stage for "Dobol Trobol," a showcase of spoken word poetry. The poetry slam starts 8 p.m. There will be an open mic after the performance and poets are invited to perform their pieces.
Meanwhile, Nar Cabico (in photo) leads a group of young performers on June 30 in a night of songs and music. Performing with Cabico are Jay Barrameda, JJ Pimpinio, Matthew Violino Chang, Gerahrd Krysstopher (who will be in drag as 'Aquilina Bravo'), and Zsaris.
Door charge for both shows are P300, inclusive of one free drink. Tickets will be available at the gate.
6. WORLD INDUSTRIAL DAY
When: June 29
Where: Robins Design Center, Meralco Avenue, Ortigas Center
The Design Center of the Philippines celebrates World Industrial Design Day 2018 with a one-day event featuring workshops and talks under the theme, “Designing Wellness,” as it explores ideas emphasizing physical, mental, emotional, and psychological well-being in communities.
A workshop on idea generation facilitated by Leo Lallana of On-Off Group will kick off the event. Afterwards, a workshop entitled “Life by Design,” which focuses on art therapy will be facilitated by Reimon Gutierrez of Prado Farm.
The dau will be concluded by talks on various aspects of wellness. Speakers include mental health advocate Dominique de Leon, Holy Carabao Farms founder Melanie Go, and Innovable, Inc. chief design officer Christina Guanzon. The talks will be followed by a fireside chat to be moderated by Kick Fire co-founder and Chief Fireball Niña Terol.
7. CELEBRATION UNDER THE SEA
When: June 28 to July 7
Where: Robinsons Magnolia
Robinsons Malls is holding a one-man exhibit featuring the works of artist Boysie Villavicencio, together with the Ateneo High School Class ’68 4 – F Elans.
“Celebration under the Sea – Alumni Art Exhibition 2018” at the upper ground floor of the mall with various artworks with their vibrant colors and beautifully crafted strokes.
Apart from the art exhibit, five artists will be recognized for their contribution to culture and the arts. Presented by the Rotary Club of Makati, the Achievement Award for Culture and the Arts will be bestowed to Villavicencio, Tony Perez, Anton Juan, Barge Ramos, and Nonon Padilla.
8. PULSO FILIPINAS
When: June 30 (7 p.m.) and July 1 (3 p.m.)
Where: Cultural Center of the Philippines' Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (Main Theater)
The country's top dance groups will showcase the country's diverse dance culture, which include folk, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, ballroom and classical ballet, in this dance production directed by Paul Morales.
The dance showcase aims to educate, enrich and deepen the appreciation of dance as a form of expression through the various works by Filipino dance artists, choreographers and dance groups as they aspire to unite the dance community.
Featured groups and artists include Ballet Philippines, Bayanihan National Folk Dance Company, Philippine Ballet Theatre, and Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, as well as guest companies Airdance, Ligaya Amilbangsa and the AlunAlun Dance Circle, Ballet Manila, Belinda Adora Ensemble, Dwight Rodrigazo's Dance Pull Project (in photo) and the UP Dance Company. Dance artists Michael Barry Que and Abbey Carlos will also perform.
Pulso Filipinas will also conduct workshops in hip-hop, ballroom, folk dance, ballet and modern dance as well as other activities such as dance talk, forum, open rehearsals, and arts online lecture.
9. BITTER TOGETHER
When: June 29, 8 p.m.
Where: Green Sun Makati
Ampalaya Monologues and Collaboratory.PH are teaming up for this special show featuring monologues, spoken word, acoustic music, improv games and more.
It will feature Mark Ghosn, Maimai Cantillano, Janine Lloce, Jerome Cleofas, Abe Herma, Leandro Reyes, Sonson O, Mark Dimaisip, Ristichen, Ian Sudiacal, Justinne Punsalang, Reinne Villasanta, Patty Arro, Sofia Dara Medina and surprise guests.
10. ROCK & RHYTHM FEATURING BARBIE ALMALBIS
When: June 30, 9:30 p.m.
Where: The Peninsula Manila
The multi-talented singer-songwriter Barbie Almalbis will be at Salon de Ning for a one-night concert this. The former lead singer of Hungry Young Poets and Barbie’s Cradle is best known for OPM hits like “Tabing Ilog” and “Limang Dipang Tao.”
Other performances for the evening include Hernandez Brothers and DJ "The Kid."
