The community quarantine brought by COVID-19 has forced people to stay home, keeping some couples apart, which could be a problem for some.
But Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu offers an unconventional view as she thinks there is smaller chance of breaking up in this kind of situation.
The quarantine may even have encouraged couples to stay loyal and to hold on to each other even tighter, Chiu said Saturday morning, during the live streaming of digital talk show #HappinewsPlus.
"Ito 'yung time na mas less 'yung chance na naghihiwalay 'yung mga mag-jowa kasi walang choice. Walang pagseselosan," Chiu said. "I think parang kaunti 'yung percentage ng naghiwalay. Kapit muna kayo sa isa't isa."

The actress also said that being apart during the quarantine has paved way for the couples to have more time by communicating more frequently.
"Ngayong quarantine, mas marami kayong time. Not together physically, pero sa ganitong paraan siguro, mas madalas kayo nag-uusap," she added.
Saturday's #HappiNewsPlus offering tackled the "new normal" and how people are coping up. Chiu was a guest as many people have come to admire her capacity to turn even negative events into opportunities to look at the bright side. She is helping efforts to raise funds for the procurement of COVID-19 test kits through her #BawalLumabas merchandise.
Meanwhile, Mayette Dela Cruz-Cinco, a wedding coordinator, agreed with the actress' statement, and said that the couples she recently encountered who have agreed to postpone their weddings this year tend to have even stronger relationships during the quarantine.
"Gusto kong i-hashtag 'yung sinabi ni Kim (Chiu) kanina. Ang hashtag ng mga couple na piniling i-postpone muna 'yung wedding nila is hashtag #KaFaithLangTayo," she said. "Napansin ko na mas lalong nag-solidify 'yung relationship, if not all, ng karamihan. Talagang kuma-'faith' sila," Dela Cruz-Cinco said.
#HappinewsPlus host Gretchen Ho shared the same perspective. She said despite the physical distancing measures imposed under the pandemic-caused quarantine, it is good to know that the lockdown helped some couples to create stronger bonds.
"Siguro magkakasubukan nga talaga dito ng true love pero ang ganda rin na mas marami pala 'yung nag-strengthen pa 'yung bond kaysa 'yung naghiwalay," she said.
#HappinewsPlus is a thematic digital forum moderated by Ho, who is joined by experts as she leads discussions with students and young people about positivity and the need to maintain a healthy outlook in life. During the coronavirus pandemic that had about 12 million in the National Capital Region on lockdown and millions others across the country in similar situation, the #HappinewsPlus forum series tackled subjects such as coping up, mental and emotional well-being, and kindness.
