ARTISAN PIZZAS AT ITALIANNI’S
Italianni’s has released three new artisan pizza varieties.
Coppa Ham and Arugula is loaded with mozzarella, provolone, Coppa ham, and arugula in tomato sauce. Then there’s the equally delicious Sardines and Peppers Pizza with sardines, mozzarella, olives, and alfredo cream sauce.
The Fruitti Di Mare, meanwhile, is teeming with shrimp, calamari, and fish, and topped with mozzarella, gouda, and pesto cream.

BICOLANO PRODUCTS AT SHANGRI-LA PLAZA
Shangri-La Plaza is inspiring mall guests to go local.
Partnering with the Department of Trade and Industry-Region 5 and Department of Tourism-Region 5, Shangri-La Plaza is hosting the Orgullo kan Bikol (OKB) Regional Trade and Travel Fair until May 26 at the Grand Atrium.
The fair culls authentic Bicolano products, all of them made by micro, small, and medium enterprises in Legazpi City.
Make sure to check out the delicious signature food items, particularly the pili-based snacks.
FOODPANDA CELEBRATES 5TH YEAR IN PH
On-demand food delivery service Foodpanda celebrates five years of operations in the country this May with special deals for its customers.
Aside from offering up to 50% discounts in selected restaurants, some Foodpanda establishments are also extending their Hot ‘n Hungry deals this month.
Foodpanda recently partnered with Samsung as a birthday treat to their loyal customers. Those who order for seven days straight have a chance to win prizes from Samsung such as a brand new phone.
To beat the heat, Foodpanda also teamed up with Dole pineapple juice. Selected restaurants are giving free 200 ml Dole pineapple juice on all orders for the month of May.

MANGO FESTIVAL IN CEBU
This weekend, head to Mactan and celebrate the sweetness of one of its best produce at the Cebu Mangoes Festival.
The event kicks off with Mango Street Dancing led by the Kadaugan Dancers on May 25. This will be followed by an all-day mango picking activity where you can have your fill of Cebu’s delectable fruit from close to 250 trees lining up the Newtown Boulevard inside The Mactan Newtown.
Shop at the Mango Bazaar which features a wide variety of mango-related products, and enjoy a sumptuous feast at the 500-seater Mactan Alfresco right by the entrance to the township.
Also part of the festival is the unveiling of the “world’s biggest mango sago,” which is eyed to become a historic first in Cebu.

NEW STORE OPENINGS BY THE BISTRO GROUP
The Bistro Group has announced new restaurant openings in the Philippines to tap a wider market.
These include TGIFridays’ 26th branch at the Island Central Mall in Mactan, Cebu; Italianni’s and Red Lobster at Evia Lifestyle Center in Las Piñas; Texas Roadhouse at Robinsons Midtown; and Watami Japanese Casual Restaurant at Ayala North Exchange in Makati.
Also opening at the Evia Lifestyle Center are Modern Shanghai (first week of June) and Texas Roadhouse (third quarter of 2019), while an Italianni’s branch will be introduced at Ayala North Exchange next month.
Over the years, The Bistro Group has managed a diverse portfolio of 13 local and international restaurant concepts.
By year-end, the company is expected to have a total of 90 stores nationwide.
THE PLAZA AT RUSTAN’S MAKATI
To commemorate The Plaza’s 55th year in the food industry, Rustan’s has arranged a special pop-up restaurant at the Rustan’s Makati fifth floor.
The menu consists of Premium Baked Ham, Premium Boiled Corned Beef, Chicken ala Kiev, and Cream Cheese Burger, all of which are available frozen and ready to cook so you may enjoy them in your own home.
A recent addition is the truffle pasta, which is tossed in a Parmesan wheel on the spot.
ZONG ZI AT MARCO POLO ORTIGAS MANILA
Experience the rich tradition of Dragon Boat Festival through the timeless savory taste of the zong zi, which is available at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s Cantonese restaurant, Lung Hin.
The zong zi is traditionally consumed during the Dragon Boat Festival, the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar. This delicacy is believed to commemorate the nationalism of Chinese poet Qu Yuan.
This year, the Dragon Boat Festival will be commemorated on June 7.
Guests can share the gift of tradition with Lung Hin’s zong zi variants: Marinated Pork with Five Spices, which consists of glutinous rice, pork belly, peanut, red bean, salted egg, and five spices; and the Guangdong Traditional flavor, which features the Marinated Pork ingredients combined with roasted duck meat, dry lotus, dried mushroom, and mung bean.
Both variants are wrapped in lotus leaf.
