MANILA – The BDCP Awards, the first and only award-giving body for campus paper design, is now accepting entries for its second edition. Interested campus press organizations and individuals may submit their entries until July 30, 2020.
Organized by Laguna-based events management firm Aloha PH, the BDCP Awards is aimed to recognize, honor, and celebrate best practices, excellence, and innovation demonstrated by the country’s campus newspapers which showcased visual and creative excellence in their news design, layout, and content.
In its first year, the BDCP Awards recognized 48 out of 136 entries who won in various categories in Grade School, High School, and College, at Jose Rizal Memorial School, Calamba City last December 7, 2019.
To expand its influence and sustain momentum, the BDCP Awards 2020 has updated its awards categories. This year, 34 categories can be entered in total: 5 in Main Categories, 18 in Sub-Categories, and 11 Special Categories.
The competition is open to any Filipino or English school publication from elementary, secondary, and tertiary schools nationwide.
To qualify, the school newspaper or publication must be published within the academic year 2019-2020. A registration fee of P550 is required upon submission of entry.
Entries will be judged by esteemed layout artists, graphic designers, campus publication specialists, art/creative directors, and journalists from different news agencies and publishing entities.
The Top 10 will each receive a Medallion of Creative Excellence, while the Best-Designed Campus Paper of the Philippines will receive P10,000, a plaque of recognition, and the BDCP Seal of Creative and Visual Excellence.
