MANILA — The Manila Symphony Orchestra delighted video game fans on Thursday with a repertoire featuring music from well-loved titles, with the bonus inclusion of memorable tunes from pop culture favorites “Avengers” and “Game of Thrones.”
Held at Ayala Museum in Makati, the mini-concert was part of the group’s “Rush Hour” series, which showcases themed performances.
“Video Game Symphonic” featured music from the likes of “Final Fantasy,” “Super Mario Brothers,” “The Legend of Zelda,” and “Pokemon,” among others.
The program’s concluding piece deviated from the night’s theme, but was nonetheless welcomed with loud applause.
The Manila Symphony Orchestra performed the main theme from the “Avengers” film series, and when asked for an encore, finally closed with the title music from the popular TV series “Game of Thrones.”
Fans who missed out on the sold-out show can look forward to a repeat performance of “Video Game Symphonic” on May 26, also at Ayala Museum.
