MANILA - "Now I can tell my grandkids, I was once stood up by Floyd."

"Umagang Kay Ganda" host Gretchen Ho cracked this joke in an Instagram post on Wednesday as she recalled how she and other members of the media waited for more than eight hours for Floyd Mayweather Jr., only to be stood up by the American boxer.

Mayweather was supposed to have a press conference at Resorts World Manila on Tuesday.

He did not show up at the event, which was to be co-hosted by Ho.

"'A tragedy is always a good story to tell,'" Ho began, using a quote, as she shared a selfie on Instagram. "[This is] Me on Mayweather's no-show at the presscon after 8+ hours of waiting."

In a previous post, Ho wrote about waiting for Mayweather at the presscon only to learn that the American boxer underwent a beauty treatment, shopped for designer goods, and ate chicken inasal instead of showing up on time.

"Waiting for Mayweather be like... Eight hours and counting," she said. "Nagpa-Belo, bumili ng LV at sapatos, kumain ng inasal sa MOA, at nagfre-freshen up muna raw. How to be a billionaire po?"

Hours before the no-show, Ho has been expressing her excitement to meet Mayweather at the presscon via Twitter.

This eventually turned into funny rants, with Ho saying in jest that Mayweather's arrival may end up being in conflict with her hosting stint on "Umagang Kay Ganda," which is an early morning show.
