Hundreds of ABS-CBN employees came together on Friday at its Quezon City headquarters for a prayer movement for the network’s broadcast franchise renewal.
The gathering, which started with a mass and included testimonies from long-time Kapamilya employees, ended with the singing of “Family is Forever”.
The ABS-CBN theme song was originally released in 2019 as a Christmas medley that combines past Kapamilya holiday tunes.
Robert Labayen, who wrote the lyrics of “Family is Forever,” led the singing of a portion about unity that has weathered challenges and the test of time.
ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak also took the stage to address fellow employees whose jobs depend on the continued broadcast operations of the network.
“Ituloy lang natin ang pagdarasal at ang pagbibigay serbisyo sa Pilipino. Sa gitna ng lahat-lahat ng nangyayari, huwag po nating kalimutan ang misyon natin — in the service of the Filipino. Maraming, maraming salamat sa inyong lahat. Mahal namin kayo. Dito sa ABSCBN, family is love. Family is forever,” he said.
