MANILA – Months before winning Miss Universe, Catriona Gray was asked to choose an actress to portray her if given the chance to have her life story featured on the ABS-CBN drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
Her answer at the time was Maymay Entrata, saying she is “kind of a goofball, a little bit like me.”
With Gray back in the Philippines for her Miss Universe homecoming, the beauty queen was once again asked if she is open to the idea of Entrata starring in her life story on “MMK.”
“I wouldn’t really oppose to it. I mean, she’s a very humble girl. I’ve met her twice and she is very, very sweet,” she said in an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual on Wednesday.
Gray was quick to add, however, that “there has been no discussions yet for ‘MMK.’”
While she admires Entrata, the country’s fourth Miss Universe titleholder stressed that she is open to the idea of having other actresses portray her life story.
“We’ll see. When it comes around, it would be nice to also consider some up and coming actresses. It would be nice to see who would best fit me also, right? I would like to meet the girls also,” she said.

Rumors that Entrata will star in Gray’s “MMK” episode surfaced this week after shoe designer Jojo Bragais and trainer Carlos Buendia shared their own photos with the actress.
Bragais and Buendia were part of the team that helped Gray win the Miss Universe 2018 crown.
“Good luck in everything, Maymay. I-lava walk na lang natin ‘yan. Abangan,” Buendia said in an Instagram post.
Bragais, for his part, said: “It was nice seeing you again, Maymay! Aliw na aliw pa rin ako sa ‘yo!”
Two years ago, “MMK” aired the life story of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach starring actress Liza Soberano.
