MANILA – For Pia Wurtzbach, this year’s NBA All-Star Game is the most exciting basketball match she has ever watched.

The former Miss Universe made this statement in an Instagram post on Tuesday (Manila time) as she talked about her experience covering the 2020 NBA All-Star festivities in Chicago over the weekend.

She particularly observed the “puso” (heart) and “sense of family” among players and fans.

“I understand the game, but I’m really new to the NBA,” Wurtzbach began. “What I learned during this whole weekend is that it’s really more than just a game. Real talk, guys. I appreciate how involved the fans are. Probably more than any sport I’ve ever watched. There’s a sense of family even if you don’t support the same teams. It’s a sport that unites everyone.”

“I also noticed that the players, the organization, they really care about the kids most especially. May puso talaga,” she went on. “And for this All-Star game? I guess it’s safe to say this is the most exciting basketball game I’ve ever watched. I was at the edge of my seat. Na-stress ako!”

After the game, Wurtzbach continued her stint as an NBA insider by sharing a photo of her holding LeBron James’ All-Star jersey, which is one of the items in the fundraising auction for the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.

“If you're a die-hard collector, this jersey (among others) is available for auction at auctions.nba.com on Tuesday!” she said.
