The municipal government of La Trinidad, Benguet was forced to cancel its annual Strawberry Festival celebration in March due to the novel 2019 coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak.

The decision is pursuant to the advisory of the Department of Health, which strongly urges the public to avoid attending, participating in, and organizing events that draw a huge number of attendees.

The Grand Street Dancing and Float Parades of Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival originally scheduled on February 29 and Mar. 1 respectively, were also moved to March 28 and 29.

Based on the latest data, there are 14 patients under investigation in Cordillera. Nine are admitted, while 5 have been discharged.
