MANILA – The daughter of beauty queen-turned-actress Melanie Marquez is not closing the door on joining beauty pageants.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual, Michelle Marquez Dee said she is open to the possibility of following the footsteps of her mother, who was crowned Miss International in 1979.
“She does a very good job at supporting and being my cornerstone. I hope I don’t disappoint if ever,” she said.
Currently, Dee is an in-demand model and cover girl of various magazines.
Asked what her daughter has inherited from her, Marquez said: “She’s flawless, natural parang mommy. But she’s a lot smarter than me. [She speaks English] better, at least somebody can stand up for me, for all my mistakes.”
Last year, Dee was introduced as one of the faces of the homegrown fashion brand Bench – her first-ever modeling stint.
Dee now has her own website, complete with her portfolio, links to social media pages, and contact details for future bookings.
It remains to be seen whether she will indeed join a beauty competition and eventually represent the Philippines in an international pageant.
